JCM Motorsports attends final East Bay Winternationals with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
With the closure of the track in the near future, Spencer Hughes brought the JCM Motorsports No. 19 machine to East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, FL) on Tuesday afternoon to compete with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series after Monday's event was postponed.
With 75 Late Models in attendance for the final East Bay Winternationals, Hughes nabbed the final transfer spot in his heat before going from 13th-to-10th in the 30-lap feature.
Hughes picked up the pace on Wednesday and was running in second during his heat race when he spun out battling for position. Being buried in the last chance race, Spencer was a scratch.
For the first five-figure payday on Thursday, Spencer started the 40-lap main event from 12th but was an early retiree which relegated him to the 23rd spot.
As Monday's make-up spanned multiple days, Hughes finished runner-up in his heat race and finished 12th after 30 laps.
Closing out the week with two more feature events, Hughes finished 19th in Friday's A-Main and placed 23rd in the $15,000-to-win finale on Saturday.
