Spencer Hughes lands on podium at Buckshot Speedway with Spring Nationals
Fresh off a victory with the JCM Motorsports team, Spencer Hughes made the trip to Buckshot Speedway (Clanton, Ala.) on Friday afternoon for the first of two nights with the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals.
Clicking off the fastest lap in his qualifying group, Hughes earned the outside pole for the 40-lap main event where he would lose one position to round out the podium in third. In the $7,553-to-win show, Spencer trailed Ashton Winger and David Breazeale while Pearson Williams and Payton Freeman completed the Top-5.
Hoping to find the same success at East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) on Saturday, Spencer missed the setup in qualifying and was a DNF in the 53-lap feature.
